Important Notice:

Please see the notice below. The board of Fire Commissioners for Glenville Fire District #2 is holding a special election to determine whether the fire district should be allowed to purchase a new fire engine. The vote will be held on June 12, 2018 from 6-9 pm at the Alplaus Fire House 309 Alplaus Avenue, Alplaus, NY  12008. There will be an informational meeting about the purchase on Monday June 4, 2018 at 7 pm at the Alplaus Firehouse in the new firehouse building.


The Board of Fire Commissioners of Glenville Fire District No. 2, pursuant to a resolution duly adopted on May 7, 2018, hereby calls a special election of the qualified voters of the Fire District to be held in the Alplaus Fire House, 309 Alplaus Avenue, Alplaus, New York, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., prevailing time, for the purpose of voting on the following proposition:

Shall the Board of Fire Commissioners bond resolution adopted on May 2, 2018 authorizing the (A) acquisition of one (1) a pumper truck and related apparatus at an estimated maximum cost of $266,530 and the expenditure of such sum for such purpose, (B) the transfer of $25,000 from the Building Reserve Fund to the Apparatus Reserve Fund, (C) the expenditure of $100,000 from the Apparatus Reserve Fund, (D) the levy of the necessary tax therefor, to be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in such amounts as may be determined by the Board of Fire Commissioners taking into account the amount expended from the Apparatus Reserve Fund, and (E) in anticipation of the collection of such tax, issuance of bonds and notes of the Fire District at one time or from time to time in the principal amount not to exceed $166,530, and levy a tax to pay the interest on said obligations when due, be approved?

 



Residents of the district are encouraged to request use of the Fire House Meeting Room and the Pavilion for various activities. To request use of fire district facilities residents must fill out the form below, submit it to the district secretary, and appear at the next board meeting to make the request.
